Online Sequencer Project:- RHYTHM:
- Create a 4-measure beat using drum sounds only, do not choose pitched instruments (no steel drums)
- Notice how your body likes to move to this rhythm
- Be sure to use the range of frequency (high, low, and mid sounds)
- Copy and paste this rhythm 3 times so that you have 16 measures of rhythm
- Alter the rhythm in the third set of 4mm for contrast. This is measure 9-12.
- Add transitions at the end of measure 4, 8 and 12. This is a sound like a crash cymbal or something else interesting to your ears that says you have completed one section and are going onto the next
- If it fits for your song, create a one or two measure intro and outro that opens and completes your song
- CHORD PROGRESSION: (G,em,D,C)
- Using the chords, we have learned, build a chord progression that you like that fits into your 4-measure beat.
- Select an instrument that works well when several notes are played at the same time.
- You can place this chord progression anywhere you like rhythmically; it should fit nicely with the rhythm you have created. You might want to move it to start on a different beat so that it gives you the "feel" you like.
- Again, measures 9-12 should have a different chord progression than the other 3 sections
- MELODY:
- Choose an instrument that sustains. This might be a synthesizer sound, or saxophone, flute etc. Something that can act like the singer.
- Create a single note melody that works with your rhythm and chord progression.
- This melody will be what the notes the singer will sing or lead instrument will play.
- These notes will likely be notes from the chords that are being played at the same time with some extra passing tones from the G scale (G,A,B,C,D,E,F#,G)
